Smartphone Ready Whiteboard MTC Sync

What is the max distance for capturing images of a board.

Max 3 meter (9 feet) with iOS / Max 2 meter (6.5 feet) with Android. Depending upon shot angle, lighting and focus.

What is the maximum shooting angle for capturing an image?

Up to 45 degrees on either side of a board. However, this is restricted by shooting distance, lighting and focus.

What devices work with the App?

iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad with retina display will work with the App. iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPad2 do not work properly due to poorer camera capability.

What is the size of file data captured?

Approximately less than 1 MB. Size varies depending upon model of whiteboard used, device, distance where photo was shot, amount of writing on the board, etc.

What should I do if I cannot save the image and I get the message: "Could not recognize PLUS Whiteboard"?

Check the following;

  • Make sure the PLUS logo is clean and unobstructed.
  • Make sure the PLUS logo is not covered by the template sheet or some other object.
  • Glare from lights may obscure the PLUS logo. Reposition the camera or the board so that the logo is not in the glare.
  • Make sure entire frame of the board is in the camera display.
  • Position the camera closer to the board so that the image is larger.
  • The App may not recognize the board if image is taken in a dark room. Increase the amount of light in the room.

What is the meaning of the message: "Template clipping failed"?

Check the following:

  • Position the template sheet only in upper or lower part of a board.
  • Make sure the template sheet is in a level position, lined up with the frame of the board.
  • Make sure the template sheet surface is clean and unobstructed.
  • Glare from lights may obscure the template. Reposition the camera or the board so that the template is not in the glare.
  • Take pictures in well lit place as darkness could cause the App to not recognize the board correctly.
  • Capture the image in front of the board and as near as possible.

Why is the importance rating displaying incorrectly?

Check the following ;

  • Mark the check mark over a star (☆)clearly. Make sure no check marks extent into the star (☆)next to it.
  • The check mark may be too faint. Be sure to use a black marker and mark clearly.
  • If the above does not work, the importance rating can be changed using the App.

Why is the captured image partially cut off?

When taking a picture, make sure that the entire board is in the picture preview area.

Why do the contents on the board vanish after the correction process? Why would the image not correct properly?

Check the following;

  • Avoid glare on the board. Change shooting angle.
  • In Image Correction Confirmation window, choose "WB Mode".
  • Take pictures in well lit place as darkness could cause the App to not recognize the board correctly.
  • Capture the image facing the board and as near as possible.
  • If the marker ink is too faint, it may not be captured correctly.

What if the App cannot detect the most appropriate outline?

Check the following;

  • Change the shooting angle and capture the image again.
  • Take pictures in well lit place as darkness could cause the App to not recognize the board correctly.
  • Capture image facing the board perpendicular to it as much as possible. Try to shoot the image as big as possible.
  • When taking a picture, make sure to include the frame of the board in the image.

Why does material attached to the board not show correctly?

Check the following;

  • Avoid hot spots and glare on the board. Change the shooting angle if necessary.
  • In Image Correction Confirmation window, choose "Photo Mode".
  • Take pictures in well lit place as darkness could cause the App to not recognize the board correct
  • Capture images facing the board as much as possible. Try to shoot the image as big as possible.

Why am I unable to register a new board type?

Be sure to have the latest version of the App. Update if necessary.

Why am I unable to send out the file via email, Evernote and/or Dropbox?

Be sure the smartphone's wireless network connection is setup properly and has a sufficient signal.

Why am I unable to print?

  • Make sure to connect the smartphone to the network that the printer is on.
  • Check the network settings of the printer.

Why, when attempting to "Import from Camera Roll" or "Save in Camera Roll", does the display read: "Enable Location Services settings for MTG Sync".

In the case of iOS 5, this message appears only during the first use. To remedy this, go to "Settings" -> "Location Services" and turn "MTG Sync" to "ON".
*You cannot import from and save in "Camera Roll" without activating "Location Services" for the MTG Sync App. This setting allows the device to share the "Board type" information imbedded in JPEG image file.

Why, when attempting to "Import from Camera Roll" and "Save in Camera Roll", does the display read: "Enable to access photos in Privacy settings for MTG Sync".

In the case of iOS 6, this message appears only during the first use. Accept by tapping "OK" or if you choose "NO", go to "Setting" -> "Privacy" -> "Photos" and turn "MTG Sync" to "ON". *You cannot import from and save in "Camera Roll" without accepting to access to "Photos" for MTG Sync. This setting allows the device to share the "Board type" information imbedded in JPEG image file.

Why is the camera shutter slow to close?

In Setting, if "Shoot after stabilized" is set to "ON", the shutter will not close until the camera is stabilized. Turn it to "OFF", if this feature is not needed.
