PLUS introduces the new UPIC Notepad for overseas market

2010/12/07

Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan. —Nov. 30, 2010 — PLUS, a world leader in the production and marketing of presentation products for business and education markets, announced today that in the middle of December, 2010 they will be introducing the UPIC Notepad for the overseas market.

The UPIC Notepad has been designed to enrich meeting, presentation and educational experiences by facilitating greater interactive communication.

The UPIC Notepad is ideal for use in meetings, presentations and educational environments in which a computer is used to display content to an audience – via either a projected image or a large flat panel display. The UPIC Notepad communicates wirelessly with the computer via Bluetooth, allowing the presenter, as well as the participants, to make digital annotations to the material being presented. Up to three UPIC Notepads can be used at once.

About the size of a pad of A4 paper, the formed-plastic UPIC Notepad is light-weight and easy to use when standing and can be easily passed around a meeting table.

Using the digital stylus, one simply "draws" on the surface of the pad -- annotates, makes notes, draws diagrams, etc. The contents drawn on the pad appear instantaneously over the displayed material being presented.

Communication between the presented image and the UPIC Notepad, is achieved with the help of Anoto Pen Technology. A CCD camera in the tip of the digital stylus tracks the position of the stylus by reading the unique dot pattern printed on the clear plastic top-sheet of the UPIC Notepad. The digital stylus sends the position information wirelessly via Bluetooth. No wires or power cords are needed, allowing users to freely interact with the presented material form just about anywhere in the room.
