Copyboard KISS-10 (BF-041S) and KISS-10W (BF-041W) now come with PC connection as standard

2006/01/18

Long-selling thermal paper models have been upgraded. PLUS Copyboard KISS-10(BF-041S) and KISS-10W (BF-041W) now come with PC connection as standard

PLUS Vision Corp. (Head Office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinichi Fukushima), the market leader* in copyboard technology, has announced the new thermal paper models KISS-10 (BF-041S) and KISS-10W (BF-041W), now with PC connections as standard. The new models will go on sale in February 2006.

The long-selling KISS Series of copyboards offer a printed output of all information written on the board using an easy-to-operate system. The current series has a PC interface kit available as an optional accessory, but the two new models will offer this built-in as standard. Minutes, notes and diagrams drawn onto the board can be sent directly to a PC as image data (like a scanner), which can then be forwarded using email, or processed further using TWAIN-compatible graphics tools (commercially available), making the new models the most user-friendly yet.

* PLUS Vision Corp. has a 40%-plus share in Japan copyboard market, and a 50%-plus share in the thermal paper-type in Japan market. (JBMIA data from January - December 2004)

MAIN FEATURES

PC Connection as standard

Connecting the copyboard to a PC using the USB port allows the contents of a full board to be sent to a PC as an image file, and saved, before being utilized in a wide variety of ways. The connected PC can also be used to operate the copyboard.

*The included simplified image viewer software (PLUS Image Viewer ver. 2) allows loaded image data to be used in a variety of ways. It offers BMP, JPEG, TIFF or PNG format of saved files. Images loaded to the PC using the included viewer software are in black and white. *Using the TWAIN Driver (PLUS Twain Driver ver. 2) allows TWAIN-compatible standard graphics software packages to be used to upload information from the surface of the board to a computer as image data. (This is not guaranteed to work with all commercially available graphic tool packages. The formats available for saving files will depend on the tool being used).

Customize your settings from a connected computer.

Connecting a computer to the copyboard allows all sorts of settings to be adjusted. You can customize your settings as appropriate to your needs, for example:

Improved print quality

Through improving the algorithm used to read the surface of the board, we have improved the print quality compared with the previous models.
